East West Novelty was established 1971 by owner Alexander Suvino. He was born in NYC in Greenwich Village....East West was the influence of his birth place. The name originated from the album called East West by Paul Butterfields Blues Band, first heard while serving in Vietnam between 1968 and 1969. Upon returning home,worked in NYC, in the Village, the idea of East West was born. the idea also behind the name was the facts that we would be selling products popular both in California and across to NYC. We began with a very small budget also in a small space. The store was off the main street in Union City called Bergenline Ave. Our main focus, was on youth orientated products, which were at that time posters, stobe lites, Lava lites, candles, incense , jewelry, tobacco pipes and many other things. Throughout the many years we have been in business, we have been in the same location, our moto is" East West, the place we like best!". Our customer base is now going on too 4 generations of families loving our store. Our store carries 2 floors of rare and very hard to find products, our expanded line includes full poster line, t-shirts over 400 designs, Rock and Roll stickers, patches, hats, jewelry, silver and other fashions, collectibles, Beatles, Marilyn, Betty Boop, James Dean, Elvis and others. Jokes and Gags.
